I just disconnected the receiver in the offside boot panel, waited 10 seconds, reconnected, press the off button AFTER 2 seconds but before 6 seconds, hold the button for at least 1 second, worked 1st time. BMW i3 Electric Car

My remote just flashes red for a few seconds then stops. What is the definitive way to pair it to work properly on MY2011.

Yep! Know about fuse 16 but someone mentioned unplugging the receiver which I assume is a wire feed into a unit... Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

It is the power feed to the receiver. Just unplugs and is pretty obvious when you look at it. Certainly in the earlier models it is just a little awkward to get to as it is tucked in behind some other bits.. John
