Brembo Brakes.....

After my car going in for the Gas recirc problem, the dealership have obviously given my car the once over for me. They have reported this to me....

"However we are concerned the front brake discs and brake pads are worn down to less than 2mm thickness which we would recommend being replaced at a total cost of £408.00 inc vat."

When I get them to replace them, should I Go red ? Or do you think the colour will cheapen the look of my car? (no Censored wisecracks about the chrome).

Jo

I think the price they quoted will be just for discs and pads and not the calipers, that are normally Black or Grey

I am a resourceful girl and will have a go at most things. ie, changing a tyre (once tried to change my FFRR hmmmmm how the hell do you find the inner strength to lift the thing that lifts the tyre)

However, something so cosmetic and prominent as the calipers I think ill leave to someone else to do it....

Thanks ! Just going to text my dealership now and see if the price was for both. x

They are:

That's a bloody good price. There was a guy selling some 2nd hand 1's for around £450 I think, as I was thinking of upgrading my TD6

United Kingdom 2014 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Corris Grey

You could try giving Nick a call (parts manager at Yeovil Land Rover). Username "TheLargeOne" on disco3 site and also a site sponsor.

He supplied new parts when I "Brembo'd" my D3 V8 and it cost me about £600 for new calipers, discs and pads with new bolts and wear sensors. I fitted them myself in about 2 hours. Even paying an indie to do it would be less than 100 quid for that.

Oh, and £400 odd for replacing standard discs & pads is Dick Turpin territory (which a Yorkshire Lass ought to know). Parts are less than half that so they're charging over 200 quid to fit the stuff - this is a 30 minute job. OK, 30 minutes per side if being generous

L322-1-06F Colour Coding of Front & Rear O.E. Brake Calipers - red, silver, black or yellow - £240(Labour) £622(Paint) £862(Total)

From overfinch, so you have a belting deal, even better if you keep your old calipers
