If you look at that thing.. it will slot in to the lower tailgate where the upper tailgate latches. Once clipped in to the lower tailgate you just lower the tailgate and magic happens. Spare wheel comes up a treat!

The thing that lifts the wheel out its a thingy made of material with a plastic thing on it.. I had it in my old ffrr i havent checked wether its in my current one
