That two year old post needs updating. It no longer costs £3500 to convert a RR, and I'd be upset to be only getting 16mpg. A 3 year warranty on the work is possible, and 5 days to do a conversion is too long. That being said, the post seemed to be based mainly on info from JE Engineering? Agreed, the lack of ability to use Eurotunnel is a pain, but in reality the ferry crossing is relatively fast and reliable theses days, more so than the tunnel one could argue. That and they ferry companies have some really good rates for the crossing. As per payback - considering the figures in that post are out now. My conversion will have covered its cost in about 6 months and I will definitely be saving money in 1 year to the tune of about £2200. Dan |

I can comment on my experience with the Disco we had. Obviously declared it as it was fitted when we bought it (aftermarket kit). Some insurance companies wouldn't touch it. Others were chilled. I would guess Dan has had to declare modifications already. In which case the specialist companies are quite competitive in this respect. Run of the mill companies tend to bulk at a fluffy tax disk holder in a corsa.

your insurance will stay the same if you have had it converted by a authorised installer and get a LPGA certificate. this i got confirmed in writing (yes written) by 20 insurance companies when i first started looking at connverting to lpg. you also get £20 off your tax as on the V5 it is changed to alternative fuel bonus zero emmissions also (feel good factor save the planet) I think everybody should convert, oh crap have i become a LPG fanboi o.0 do it you know you want to |

On the hundreds of occasions I've been off roading from competitive trialing to green laning I've never once got a puncture. If you read the land ahead of you well you never should. Sods law next time i venture off road I'll slash my sidewall! |
