Once you've selected what you want, make a final check of the battery voltage and select "Upload changes". You'll be asked to confirm and then the IID will proceed to write the CCF. Afterwards, cycle the ignition when the IID asks, it will clear any faults and you're all done. Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

It's only really the flashing (inc. CCF editing) that carries significant risk; the rest has little potential for problems. Aside from that, the tool has been made as user friendly as possible, is very safe and you get top service from GAP. Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Aye I suppose you're right, am getting ed off with £40 for a diagnostic check, which, lets be honest, is every other month! It's currently got 4 different warnings which have appeared over the last couple of days! |

That's the great thing; not only does it negate those £40 fees, it's also more convenient, being available for you to use whenever you like and you can save all the codes and data at the touch of a button. Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Depending on how far apart you are - it may be worth paying for an additional VIN licence on an existing tool rather than buying your own - and coming to some suitable arrangement on how to split the difference |

That's a generous offer Mikey, as I have a few fault codes, and you don't work for free, there would have to be a charge involved. |

For the record, there is always a risk when flashing the CCF or an ECU. However, we've incorporated several safety nets which prevents such occurrences. It's been more then a year since we had such a case which are generally caused by an issue present on the vehicle (bent, dirty OBDII terminals) or by user error (panic, tool disconnection during flashing). We've always managed to recover from such situations by using special tools developed just for this purpose. Reading the user manual and taking the necessary precautions do reduce the risk significantly.
