Steering issue

Hi, my 05 4.4 has developed a strange fault in the steering, I didn't use the car for a few days and when I came to reverse out of the garage the steering felt like it was stuck straight ahead for a second or two then freed off. However now the steering feels vague and doesn't want to self centre, is there any ujs that are prone to going stiff ? Thanks Mick

Battery on way out
Try giving the battery a full charge and see what it's like
