The figures tell part of the story tho Stan, obviously the 5.0 is coming to be miles in the lead, But with its extra lbft I wonder if the diesel could claw it back over 1/4 mile against the 4.2

According to LR the L405 SDV8 0-60 is 6.5 s.

I am sure the 5.0SC is underrated by land rover. Edmonds.com tested it at 5.2s to 0-60mph with roll out and C&D tested it at 5.1s to 60mph.

Just out of interest, the 4.4 is at least as fast as a late model old shape ssrr.

Having had a 4.2 S/C before we bought the 4.4TDV8, there is no real difference in everyday use - apart from the frequency of stopping for fuel. ! |
