Still haven't resolved this!

My iPhone 6 won't talk to the iPhone 4 Land Rover lead in the glove box despite the £25 bit of plastic from Apple Sad

There must be a simple solution???

I have a 2010 model Vogue that doesn't audio stream but does Bluetooth hands free calls.
How does that work if you add the tune 2 air?
Does it interfere with phone calls?

No doesn't interfere at all, calls automatically cut off audio, works very well, basically your phone will pair to the car & tune2air at the same time. The tune2air plugs directly into iPod cable in chubby box. Can take a few goes to get it to pair , but it's about the best option out there.

Or just plug an old iPod into the connector with your favourite 20 albums on it. Had a tune 2 air and couldn't make it work. Might have another go, but tbh I listen to the wireless...... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Thanks guys.
So does the WMA2000 model plug in fine to the usb and bring up songs and artists?
Or do you have to get the Landrover iPod to 20 pin cable and then connect a WMA1000 model?

Not sure about the wma2000, think it's designed for iPod usb which the one in the ff isn't, which is why we have a separate iPod socket.

Can't find the wma1000 on the uk Amazon site though it is listed in the us still. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

2000 model won't work, I bought one by mistake, there are a few 1000 on eBay and yep you'll need the lr iPod cable, plenty on eBay too.

So like a numpty I appear to have bought a 2000 WMA thingy which I read above won't work?

I also 'gambled' on a 6.99 thingy in case that may work.....

Do Land Rover do a proper cable whereby I simply replace the old iphone 4 connector with the up to date one?

Although the wma1000 does seem the so,union as like to be able to see my phone so I know who is calling me Smile

If you bought the esynic that doesn't work either.

Basically you need an iPod stand in connected to the LR cable, which is what the tune 2 air does - it makes the car think there is an iPod connected whilst it's reading the contents of your phone and sending them to the car as though it's an iPod with the content stored on it not the phone, so it basically fools the car into thinking its the iPod, the esynic is just a Bluetooth receiver which outputs analogue to the 30 pin connector as far as I can tell. Bought one to try for a few quids myself works fine on the speaker dock in the house though!

Honestly the easiest way is to Bung all your music on an old iPod in the cubby, plug it in and forget about it. Bring it in and update it when you get new music. I have about 100gb of music on mine which you won't fit on a phone. There are plenty of old iPods about and it doesn't matter if the battery is fubar.

Really don't understand the need for folks to over complicate things. The tune2air wma1000 seems to be the solution to the phone question, but they seem to have stopped making it as its not even on their site any more, so in its absence an actual iPod seems a simple solution..... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I've recently bought the curly LR ipod/ iPhone cubby cable (thanks Jayboy). I've also bought a Tune2Air WMA2000.

Cannot for love nor money get the Tune2Air to work, not even by pairing it to devices in the house (it just won't work). Have tried iPhone 4 and iPhone 6 in the car with it also but to no avail.

The curly cable works a treat in the car with iPods/ iPhones giving playlist access etc... and with or without that curly cable the car also perfectly/ automatically Bluetooth connects itself to any paired phones that happen to be in the car for the purpose of making calls.

A lot of people seem to report that with the Tune2Air 'you have to persevere to get it to pair' or similar. Have reached the conclusion that I can live without the Tune2Air and don't have the time or patience to keep pfaffing around trying to get it to work.

Thumbs Up

Wrong tune2air Ryan.

You need the one which plugs into the curly cable, the 2000 you have bought plugs into the usb which is why it doesn't work. See my comment above. Thumbs Up There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Im using the genuine LR cable with the apple 30 pin to lightning adapter. This configuration didnt charge the iphone in my 2010MY so I installed a scosche passport inline to allow charging ( you can get these 12 to 5 v charging adapters on ebay but the scosche one is the only one that passes enough power to actually charge the iphone

Not a clue about that Mark/ the online sales stuff suggests it should be compatible Rolling Eyes

Erik, I've just noticed overnight that the LR one doesn't charge the iPhone.

Thumbs Up
