Boot mat (rubber?) help

Hi Guys Smile

Posting on behalf on my father.
He has just bought a 2011 4.4 v8 vogue se and is after a mat (preferably rubber) for the boot, to help with dirt from the dog and usual filthy exploits.

I was wondering whether you guys used a specific one, or whether you could recommend one as we are equally lost on this matter!

Many thanks for any and all responses Smile

There are different options, starting with OEM or aftermarket. The choices are, as far as I can see, a rubber boot mat, a semi-rgid liner (like the boot mat but plastic) and a waterproof cloth boot liner.

The obvious benefit of a boot liner is that it covers the back of the seats, side panels, boot floor and tailgate inner. Hence, it might be the better option for a muddy dog.

I use an OEM rubber boot mat just to stop stuff sliding around and the dog goes on the covered back seat in a harness. If I was putting the dog in the back, I would go for a full liner or a semi-rigid liner; the latter has curved edges so forms sort of a dish shape.

I'm too early into ownership experience to recommend a specific make, though…LR do all of the above but obviously cost more than the aftermarket examples.

Thanks for the response. You don't have any links to some examples do you? I'm having some trouble finding what I'm looking for!

hi I brought a boot liner from UK Custom Covers on the bay, just brilliant and well worth the £55.

Thanks, I think he's veering towards a mat as opposed to the cover though

I bought a hatchbag. Fully lines the load area and is custom fit. A brilliant bit of kit and recommended to me by the parts man at my local LR dealer, so much better than the official LR option. Google 'Hatchbag'.

Try searching like this: range rover rubber boot mat -sport -evoque

On the Bay, you will get, for example, genuine new
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-GENUINE-RANG...4ZMKqvQI9g

afermarket new
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Range-Rover-genu...N_waWlGxiA

and several used examples e.g. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-RANGE-RO...SwGotWlo56 ….I included this one because even though it doesn't picture the mat, it does include a full set of mats in the price! Not me, by the way.

Substitute liner for mat in the search…they cover all the easily damaged bits of leather etc and really are worth considering as someone has already said.

I have a combination of LR accessory seat covers on the back seats and LR accessory semi-rigid loadspace liner with non-slip mat (supplied with the liner) on top, without it things do slide pretty freely on the plastic liner. The weak link is the inside of the lower tailgate, which is not covered and so gets very dirty from muddy paws when dogs jump in and land on it. One still has to clean the rest of the boot area as hairs and mud spatters seem to get everywhere, including headlining etc. The liner has the advantage of raised sides, so better for containing liquid spills.

More serious dog transporters seem to go for cages, including bespoke for the vehicle/dog(s) such as made by Lintrans. Only Range Rovers since 1988

Not bad prices for the UK.

I just paid £99 for a new full set of genuine rubber mats from a LR dealer.
