Why did I buy it!!!! British engineering!!

Well after 3 weeks of ownership it's let me down. My trusty ml didn't let me down over 5 years of ownership. Took my lad karting today. Left the Rr for 5 hours and it failed to start. No reason....nothing left on... locked etc.... A jump from a pug 307 got me going. British engineering! .....why oh why did I flog the merc!

Luck of the draw....

Pal of mine had an ML430 for 2 weeks before it let him down. I then carried on letting him down until the garage took it back....and he got an ML55 that was also awful..in the end the garage took that after a threat of legal action. He has an X5 at the moment but has nightmares about the ML.

Batteries being dead is common on the RR. Get it drop tested Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

Chances are it isn't the British engineering that's let you down. Wink Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Yes, but look on the bright side...... if your ML had let you down i bet a simple jump start from pug wouldn't have got it going ..

Well.....*cough* I appear to have done the RR a dis service. When I was discussing said loss of battery with my son, he did say "well Dad, you did fully inflate eight kart tyres from the rear charging point whilst leaving the tailgate open and locking and unlocking the thing constantly all day, no wonder it didn't start..."

Good point.....

Since then it's been fine ☺ I apologise for my lack of faith and complete numptyism....

Mum and Dad had an ML. Nothing but trouble from the begining to the end of their ownership.

We read reviews that said it was not up to the usual Mercedes levels of quality, but surely even a bad Benz had to be better than Landrover reliability right?

Wrong. They are back in a Discovery!

MW Car history includes: LR Series 3, RR Classic x 4, LR 101, Discovery 1 and 2 and now FFRR.
Yes I'm a masochist....
