It is true that LR have no liability to you as your contract is strictly with the dealer you purchased it from. However, LR do not want any more bad press in relation to reliability. If you make enough noise and keep escalating, you will end up in the Executive Office which is where things start moving nicely. They put a lot of pressure on the dealer to sort things out.

A big thank you to everyone for their advice, I think one of the biggest hurdles will be getting the dealers to agree with the faults, they seem completely unable to do that at the moment, a good example being a thump from the car somewhere near the back a few seconds after start up, they had it for 1 week and brought it back saying they fitted the fuel tank baffles and it sorted it, I drove it next morning and still thumping, how hard can it be to listen?

I'd insist on being in the vehicle with the tech to demonstrate the problems and ask to drive a demo vehicle of the same spec with a tech as well just to get the point across that the problems shouldn't be occuring You can paypal direct using - www.paypal.me/duckworthparts

@Carlos, the only meaningful discussions we ever really had during two years of dispute reference our - older than yours - approved used (L322) was with the selling/ maintaining dealership group and latterly their appointed solicitor... even then, progress was only made resultant from persistence and our written records. LRCR, in our experience, was a completely ineffective channel to direct serious bona fide grievances towards. Yes, they might be of some assistance/ have some dialogue with the dealership and/ or might appear to secure a result on less serious matters, but if an impasse exists between your stance (what you say the problems are) and the dealership on serious matters, you might find LRCR putting the hands up and quoting the fact that because it is a second hand car, it is between you and the seller as opposed to a problem for LRCR to resolve. However, I was under the impression that even A.U cars were covered by more effective LRCR governance where cars are under 3 years old, because that's exactly what a LRCR representative told me earlier this year.., just before they notified me that I was on my own when faced with the might of a national motor group and their solicitors. This is not a gripe but a factual experience (of course other peoples experiences of LRCR might be more positive regarding really serious matters) You need to be able to show a written audit trail of the issues. If not already done you have over 2 weeks to get your house in order and draft a timeline of your adverse experiences and previous reports to the dealership/ LR. Consider also, paying for an independent specialist to assess the car. Even if you don't recoup that money, for the sake of a couple of hundred pounds against such an expensive car, it could pay dividends, long term. Don't be fobbed off if you genuinely think something is amiss but if there is ambiguity and dispute as to whether or not problems remain, you will need to be resilient and persistent. |

If you're ever near Peterborough, you're welcome to try mine - I've even got my summer 22's in the shed to make them exactly the same for a back to back test

I'm sure someone will have already mentioned it somewhere, but if the car rolls a lot , wouldn't that relate to the adaptive dynamics or roll stability control devices? I thought it was these that limited the body roll (assume in conjunction with the air suspension).I don't know if they are standalone management units with their own software or part of the main ECU etc . Have these been checked? Besides the engine, the roll is the biggest difference that I have noticed in the car , the way it now goes round corners with a lot less of it than my old L322. The old one leaned a fair bit (but never felt unstable), whereas the L405 round the same bends at the same speed or higher is significantly less. Just a thought. Steve

I've read that article, the V6 doesn't have the Dynamic set up so cant be compared. Autocar tested the SDV8 against a Cayenne Turbo and the guy commented on how well it handled, it was part of the reason I expected a better ride, I came from said Cayenne Turbo.

My understanding was that in general terns, the L405 isn't going to compare with the handling of a Cayenne because they're two entirely different cars (in fact I was under the impression that the RRS was more likely to be put head to head with the Cayenne/ I've never driven the L405, the RRS or the Cayenne)?

I'm not trying to compare it to a Cayenne Turbo at all, I'm comparing it to reviews, other comments on here and how it drives, I know its not right. |

Well, if you're at stalemate with those you want to do something about it, hopefully you can soon drive a like for like MY so as to be able to directly compare two near 'identical' and comparable cars; and then be able to say exactly how it's not right, in the absence of being able to prove your point by any other means. Fingers crossed you get the outcome you want |
