I have noticed that the throttle body has a buzzing noise with ignition on (removed acoustic cover to listen and it is quite loud.

Also a slight undertone of perhaps a component shorting (small crackle along with the buzz)

Anyway is this normal - does your buzz as well - in that case are we all doomed or ok?

Yes that is a pity.

Did a search on BMW 540 and 740 - buzzing throttle body does appear for other owners - but most reports say their car runs fine and it is normal.

I think I will just have to monitor it.

Anyway tickover revs are normal 640(no AC) and 800rpm with AC. Howard
