Suggestion

I recently purchased a 2011 VSE (Land Rover Approved.)
I asked for a copy of the 165 point inspection report.
It is mostly ticks in boxes, but includes brake pad and disc measurements.
Tyre tread depths etc.
Worth asking for in my opinion.

Wouldn't count on it... "... to be expected with any vehicle of that age and mileage sir." Laughing

Only joking but worth being specific as to what they intend to do to make good. Easier to get away with a localised smart repair in this light and weather and then months later when it's washed, dried and the sun hits it... Shocked

Thumbs Up

I haven't been able to view it yet so haven't checked the vehicle over but….

Can I please invite the learned forum members for their views on this vehicle based on the scant information available? Many thanks in advance.

Steering wheel looks a bit shiny for the mileage to me.

I'd be very curious as to what it was used for to do such low miles over the few years compared to most and as above want to see it before its prep'd and possibly see about speaking to the last owner, they may have upgraded or part'd it in due to some other reasons.... FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
Mantec Sump Guard, Rigid Load liner, MY10 BT upgrade.

Believe me, I noticed that.

The advertisement has shown the car as 'Coming Soon' for over a week now. I called to ask when it was due in and two hours later, the car was there and the video was shot.

I can't help but think the car was being used and would continue to be used right up to the moment someone showed interest. Would a dealer do that or is to just coincidence?

You are articulating my inner doubts. I can't explain why but I have been putting aside my subconscious doubts, putting them down to natural concerns about making a move to LR and being a little out of my comfort zone.

Seats where the armrest has sat will indeed come out with some steam Thumbs Up

Be aware of wear on the front seats... Ivory semi aniline wears much quicker than other colours!

The scrape on the rear wheel arch (if done correctly) will involve painting both the rear wing & the rear door! Retail would be somewhere between £800 & £1000 in repair costs... A "smart” repair probably less than £200! So check with them as to what would be planned! If it were me, i would insist on it being done properly and thoroughly checking it afterwards! (don’t take their word for it)

We all know that the truth & car sales don’t go hand in hand! Rolling Eyes

I am flabsgasted that they would video the car in a sales video with all that dirt inside & outside. Shocking standards.

A good dealer would not.

As stated, just turn up at the dealers and ask to view as is .
If your not happy with the condition or response.

Nothing useful to add, but I have the very same colour, it's one of the rarest of all mainstream full fat colours, looks rather good with umpteen layers of wax!

I too noticed that the vehicle was up for sale well over a week ago , so much for "coming soon" etc.

Enquiry failed to get call back. Wasn't impressed.

Also be aware that the MOT has expired -30th Nov. 2015 .

The dealer has been leaving messages all day. Good or bad sign? He is certainly not going to like the questions I have lined up seeing as the most basic has already flummoxed him.

@ MrTee - I've never had a green car but the ones i have seen, properly waxed, do look very nice indeed.

@ silversurfer - It does seem odd to advertise 'coming soon' and for it to arrive two hours after my call and be due an MoT and likely its yearly service. Along with everything else, I can't help but wondering exactly what is going on with this car…perhaps the owner made an arrangement with the dealer or the owner is one of those who leave everything to the last minute.

Whatever the back story to this car is, my can't-quite-put-my-finger-on-it-but-something-is-ringing-my-internal-something-isn't-quite-right-alarm and with this sort of money, I would expect to be wafting happily towards an quick buy.

If it's still around after the weekend, I'll go and have a look but they will have to work VERY hard to bring me back onboard.

Thanks to everyone for their help and advice.

I suspect they are keen to get you to look at it as the L322 is becoming a less stocked item at the LR dealers nowadays, and they are keen to shift it as soon as poss, the fact it is a petrol will make it more difficult for them to shift than the equivalent diesel IMHO, so they don't want to let you vanish into the ether..

There was a car I really liked the look of at Harwoods, but it was miles away from me, I emailed them with a list of questions, the next day the salesman phoned me to tell me the car had sold.... I was disappointed, but curious as a couple of weeks later the called again to see if I was still interested. Think they did not want to answer the questions as some of them would have required some effort to sort out. Their video was also much better an a lot more detailed than the one above.

My advice at this point would be to put an email to them with all your questions and queries, and ask them to respond in the same way, then everything is in black and white and laid out for you to make a judgement. Thumbs Up There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
