United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Santorini Black

A stonking looking car but for my first RR, I am looking for a three/four year old S/C or 4.4 so that I can have the safety net of the two year LR warranty.

No offence intended towards you personally or your business. Just me being windy about my first RR.

Thought that might be the case but being new, I didn't want to assume too much.

I am a little tempted to see if I can strike a deal over the phone for this one http://www.usedvehicles.landrover.co.uk/search#/details/2653338

Only thing giving me pause is the advice received here and obvious benefit of buying from a local dealer. Now that I've got the go-ahead, my patience is low Embarassed

Decent looking car with attractive low miles. Not sure I'm a fan of the mudflaps with those wheels/ permanent tow bar sticking out/ don't know why though and a matter of opinion.

The singular wheel on the 'video' has a minor gouge at the 10 o'clock position/ obviously a main dealer would make good on that.

Is it priced correctly at 38k?

Personally, I like the mudguards and if the tow hitch is not removable, I would likely remove it, if that makes sense.

For that colour combo, I would pay a that.

Ours has mudflaps and wears them well on a black car tbh. Personal taste, would ideally remove them ... but for the holes that would be left,so they're staying on Thumbs Up

I've had 3 and never bought one locally - I'm not sure there is a benefit other than it's easier to look at it in the first place.

Once you've done the deal, it's either covered by the warranty, or it isn't - and that's transferable....

I've always done the deal on the phone, on the basis that it's either exactly as described & I will drive it home - or it isn't & I walk away.

I've bought 3 out of 4 - pd'x once and bought 2 outright.

There is always the option of looking outside the dealer network. You can buy, have the car inspected (Multi Point Checked) by your local Main Dealer, have any corrective work done, and then purchase the LR warranty. This is what we ended up doing. There are more risks involved yes, but you potentially broaden your search criterion, and will pay less for the car you buy outside of the dealer network. Granted that by the time you've got the car warranted there will be little difference in overall price. Land Rover (Duckworth's @ Market Rasen) have been very helpful with the whole process for me, and waived the MPC cost by reducing the warranty price. It's not the route I would have chosen, but I have the car and specification I wanted, and a LR warranty to cover my ass should the FFRR Fault Fairy show up. --RiDDO

I test drove a TDV8 today…my wife couldn't because it was noted by the dealer that her licence had expired date wise. Laughing There were three other FFRRs on the forecourt that we looked around (W'minster x2, VSE x1) but this Autobiography caught our eye.

http://www.usedvehicles.landrover.co.uk/search#/details/2653126 Registered July 2012, two owners, deployable steps, rear entertainment, boot liner and lots I've probably missed.

It has a cracked rear lens, two slightly kerbed wheels (on the rims edge, not the spokes) and a couple of small surface scratches, all easily fixable and I am assured it all would be. Good tyres all and will be serviced & tested. The deal was good, happy with our trade-in (Merc SL 2012-61) offer so we have regrouped at home to discuss whether or not to go ahead with this one.

No pictures on the site for the Jet/Ivory Duo interior (Jet inserts, Ivory main).

If we decide to go ahead, all I have to do is re-attend the dealer with the 'what to look for list' from this site/helpful member, check the work has been done and ask to watch whilst a code reader is plugged in.

Any thoughts? Yay or Nay?

That one looks rather smart, if the deal fits , go for it.
