If the text on the screen is still white, as oppose to grey, then I think that indicates the unit had identified itself on the ibus.

10 months on and I still have not sorted this so took the plunge and bought another 2nd hand ulf. Thankfully went for a gen3 to keep the price down in case it didn't work cos guess what.........it didn't.

Tried that, the trouble is there's no pairing mode and no flashing LEDs but the text is white. I've wired in a switch previously as mentioned and it was all working fine till a few months ago.

I don't believe it's connected to the head unit as such, the head unit has its own firmware loaded but it's driven through the sat nav if I remember right. The options in the menus for dsp and telephone etc are shown if that unit identifies itself on the ibus. If you disconnect the ulf does the telephone text change to grey, may take a few mins.

There is a bit on here about removing and replacing fuses, though I can imagine it'd be easier to unplug the ulf overnight.

The only other way to force pairing mode or look at other bits is by using navcoder. You will prob have to buy the full version and the lead. Pity you are not nearer......
