Hi Duracell777 and marky777 ( plus a couple of other posters ) if you don’t like this thread, then it’s simple, DON”T READ IT.

You may not be interested in this threads content, but going by the VIEW counter, a very large number of people are interested.

My issue is. as you put it Duracell, with LR but it is also about their pathetic manufacturing skills, and that is an issue for everybody who drives an LR.

Furthermore, it’s threads like this, and similar, that not only warn owners of some of the risks associated with owning these vehicles, the thread can literally be potential life savers.

Just had a look at the recalls for the Range Rover, there have been 27 in the last 14+ years so definitely not the worst out there by a long shot.

Oh!!! did I mention my Subaru has never had any recalls

Neither has my Audi, but there have been a couple for the Mercedes, but none for the Mini

Again, side skipped the question.

You will get a high thread count with a contentious headline like you have. People are curious, dosen't make them interested in the bulk of the content.

Oh and by the way, SHOUTING means you have lost the argument (even if you were right). Just something for you to think about

Hi Duracell, and you are saying that if a thread is not of your liking, it should be shut down????

While I personally have a gut dislike of Land Rover the company, which I have stated before, but this doesn’t alter the fact that this company has a poor track record for both reliability and as it is now becoming pretty evident, for safety.

Furthermore, like it or not, more has been posted in this thread to help other LR owners by warning them of the risks these vehicles pose, than anywhere else on this forum.

For instance, and this has only just come to me attention, are you aware that when one of these vehicles sufferes an instantaneous catastrophic systems failure, caused when the alternators short out, that you not only loose your power steering, your brake booster, stop lights and hazard lights ( so there is no way of warning other road users that your vehicle has just turned into a brick, in the middle of some freeway ) but at the very time you most need them, because your vehicle has failed in some dangerous location, but your Safety Airbag System will also have failed.

So Duracell, why shouldn't other RR owners be warned of this danger???????????????????????? 2007 TDV8 Lux

Dangerously addictive! Car history includes: LR Series 3, RR Classic x 4, LR 101, Discovery 1 and 2 and now FFRR.

Land Rover products are like drugs and I cannot get enough of them! As such I accept the problems that come with them.

Drivesafe, you appear to have gone cold turkey and kicked the habit. Maybe you should find a more pious platform such as the Land Cruiser forum because naturally these never fail or suffer recalls, and leave us junkies to our soma!

Are you sure, I thought the SRS units took 10 minutes to discharge once power is disconnected.

Hi Andy, and unfortunately this is not much comfort.

In my case, it took breakdown crews 2.5 hours to get my heap off the middle of a bussy road.

My wife was still trying to get the heap going for some time after it failed and it was probably only for the good samaritan action of anther woman, who on finding out my heap could not be moved, that she backed up and sat behind my heap with her hazard lights on, thus preventing an accident. And see was there for an hour.

Again, unfortunately not quite the case.

There is a recall for faulty high pressure fuel lines to be replace, because the original fuel lines were of such poor quality that they would perforate and spray fuel into the engine bay.

Check out the complaints the Russians put up about all the fires they had.

Only a fortnight ago, a poor sole in Melbourne, who had just set off in his brand new RRS towing a caravan, when the RRS caught fire on one of Melbourne’s busiest freeways.

That one made national news here.

In all fairness, I have no idea what caused that fire. 2007 TDV8 Lux
