17.5mpg sounds more like it's being driven very hard with lead boots, or there is a problem.
Hang on, you didn't say it's diesel... is it petrol?.. in which case that sounds fine. |

Doesn't sound that extraordinary. I have a TD6, My Brother has an Audi A3 2.0 TDI. I get 18mpg on my commute, he gets around 50 going to near enough the same place. What do you get on the motorway at 70 ? Mine's around 28. Andy |

It depends how bad the traffic is on your commute. Mine's 10 miles, and takes around an hour!!! I think 18 for me is acceptable, and to be honest i was expecting worse. Apologies if i've posted this on my phone and it contains strange spelling and punctuation.. i just can't be bothered to correct it ![]() |

looking on other sites it appears that you might need a soft reset on the gear change ecu [if there is one |

Will give it a shot Scarey. I presume if i lock the car the disconnect the battery then when i re-connet tomorrow it will still unlock? Hope it wont loose the pairing. Maybe a silly question |

i would lock the car manually when you have disconnected the battery , but leave the car untouched for about half hour to get rid of any residual voltage...

Try resetting the trip computer at 70 mph on the motorway. You should see a reading of 25+ mpg... |
