Hello all!

A quick query! I have a 2003 4.4 in need of a replacement back box, I have an original Supercharged backbox from a '55' 06my. I know (or think) the exhaust mounts/hangers are in a different place, so you can't just fit the supercharged exhaust.

My question is, I assume the Westfalia tow bar armature for the 06my has the exhaust brackets in the correct place for the supercharged exhaust, and fitting this armature to the '03' would enable the box to be fitted? As I assume the only reason they're not compatible is because of the exhaust hangers? I've searched, and it does say the 02-05 and 06+ aren't compatible, but is this only because of the exhaust?

Or is there an easier way to do it?

The brackets that bolt to the chassis look different, but remember a rubber hanger goes between the exhaust and the bracket. So it may be that you can leave your existing bracket in place, and the exhaust just connects using the rubber pieces as normal.

I would surprised if they changed where the arms of the exhaust box sat in relation to the chassis, so it may be possible. My SC isn't on the driveway at the moment, so can go out and look at the moment V8 or else ...

You need to get the brakes from a part of rear outer chassis supports if you put a towbar on,
