Australia 2007 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Stornoway Grey

Hi Fish and Duck, I too am quite sure there is not a make of vehicle that out there that has not had a recall or few, but for the premium prices charged for Range Rovers, why do they have so many recalls?

The number of RR recalls far exceeds any other make.

And it’s not just Range Rovers. There is a thread on the D3 site about new D4s requiring a recall because the LR Can Cooler can cause all manor of serious failures. 2007 TDV8 Lux

Paul Tyler mentioned on page 3 the recal stats & ford recalled more than LR so no RR doesn't. 2011 (MY12) 4.4 TDV8 Vogue

Hi RJH and while I was posting about more resent failures, the fact is Land Rover has never made reliable vehicles, but it is pretty obvious they are worse now then they have ever been.

Look, as many of you have pointed out, I have gut dislike of this company after being ripped off by them.

But I am not the only one that has been ripped off by them, and I am not the one providing fuel for the fire. LR are not capable of make reliable vehicles and many of you have stated as much, when quite a few members have post up in different threads, that you need deep pockets to own one.

The response on this forum is very strange when it comes to mentioning failures and recalls for Land Rovers, when just about every other motoring forum I go on has either a regular posting of recalls for a specific vehicle that that forum is about or actually has a dedicated section for the recalls of the specific make.

You asked a very specific question as to whether LR make some of the worlds most dangerous vehicles, & wanted the opinions of forum members, numerous forum members have commented back & posted evidence that in THEIR opinion (an opinion that you sought) suggest that THEY don't believe LR do.

It's unfortunate that you've had a poor experience of the brand & IMO this has clearly lead to some bitterness & leaves you unable to accept their opinion, highlighted in you insulting their intellect by suggesting they are all burrying their heads in the sand as all you want to hear is someone say yes!

JLR have recalls going on as do almost all manufacturers. IMO none make LR the most dangerous, yes some are safety issues but none make them the most dangerous, so MY answer sir is No. 2011 (MY12) 4.4 TDV8 Vogue

Drivesafe, lets put his to bed, as you have pointed out Land Rover DO NOT make reliable vehicles, we know that and don't care otherwise we would have something else, at what point are you going to realise that, go to the other forums, we still won't care, we have them because we like them and put up with their foibles, name me another manufacturer that can elicit such a following who passes your 'dangerous test'

Hi again RJH, point taken and I will apologies for those comments, but it is surprising that with so many recalls ( and forget my bitching about them ), why is there not a section on here, covering recalls, so RR owners are made aware of recalls that may effect their RR? 2007 TDV8 Lux

Owners are made aware of recalls, by Land Rover.

Hi Martin and in the vast majority of cases, this is so, but when vehicles get sold on, it is not always the case and I don’t just mean Land Rovers.

It happens with all makes.

I’m guessing here, but I would imagine most on this forum bought their RR per loved, so again, like most makes of vehicles, some will fall through the cracks and the owners will not be notified.

Anyway, I’ll leave it at that. 2007 TDV8 Lux

Having looked through this thread I am mystified as to why it is being treated as anything other than a well written trolling attempt.

The question is asked in such as a way as to try and engineer a particular answer, and any attempt to suggest other wider issues is simply swept aside.

Any volume car maker will have issues. Any complex vehicle that is less well maintained as its gets older will have issues.

I don't believe LR is any better or Worse than any other.

I can't imagine asking that sort of question on an owners or enthusiasts forum will get you any other kind of response.

We Brits laugh at ourselves, and the traumas we put ourselves through, but we are not blind to them.

Hi MW and it would appear that you Brits are not the only ones that laugh at Land Rover.

The irony with the video is that this guy has a Third Party used car warranty that works and works well, while I had a GENUINE fake Land Rover new vehicle warranty that wasn’t worth the paper it was printed on.

If you don't like it or think it is unsafe then you always have the option to sell it.

Coming on a Forum full of people that love the FF and trying to stir up hatred for it just won't work.

And expecting that any warranty will change whatever YOU think should be changed is just being naive. Pete

Hi Pete, and I wanted to sell mine, but it, under warranty, had so many FACTORY manufactured faults, it could not pass a road worthy inspection ( required when selling any vehicle in Australia ).

I am not sure what you mean by “change whatever YOU thing should be charged”

I didn’t want anything changed, I just wanted LRA to honour the LR warranty I paid for.

That aside, the video is a good tip for what to lookout for, if you own these vehicles. 2007 TDV8 Lux

Agree, thread should be canned.

Loaded rhetorical questions/statements with all reasonable answers dismissed out of hand.

The thread should have been "i hate LR, come at me bro" obvious troll imho Whistle
