Suspension different heights on each side..

I just checked my suspension heights in normal mode and offside measured 767mm Front and 757mm Rear,

Checked the nearside and it measured 785mm front and 740mm rear.

Should it sit the same on both sides? the car was on a nice level ground with all tyres inflated correctly etc.

should be within a few mm's ...make sure its on absolutely level ground and toggle between all height modes and then measure with the engine running, joe90's height chart [below] might help,

The EAS has a + or - 9mm tolerance, so they could be up to 18mm different side to side,

If it's much more than this then it needs calibrating which you can't do without a plug in tool like the IID or similar. Thumbs Up Pete

Been out for a drive and took the readings as soon as I got home incase one corner was going down slightly. Now I'm running 255/55/20 tyres so obviously the 55 profile will make a difference. The measurements were as follows..

O/s/f - 770mm
O/s/r - 776mm
N/s/f - 782mm
N/s/r - 755mm

So the nearside front sits 12mm higher than the offside and the offside rear sits 21mm higher than the nearside.

Can the IID tool adjust each corner height independently? Thanks

Is it fairly straightforward to do with an iid tool? Need to order myself one still.

If you are measuring from the centre of hub or bottom of rim how will tyre profile make a difference ?

Because the thicker profile tyre will be slightly higher off the ground won't it

@JPS - yes but the tyre makes no difference to the calcs.

You are measuring from the centre of hub or bottom of rim to give you a fixed point on the suspension without accounting for variations in the tyre Howard

@JPS ... No problem, IID tool and RSW Allcomms can adjust the heights independently - make sure your car air suspension is in good condition before you start - ie no leaks.

Just be careful when you do synch it.

If it is any consolation mine also has dif f heights similar to yours - been meaning to re-cal since I got it, however not found a flat piece of ground yet and the time. However makes little difference to driving in the time I have owned it. Very Happy Howard

It is no problem calibrating the system, just take your time and work through it, the instructions from Gap are excellent.

As said the heights are usually taken from the centre of the wheel to the wheel arch.

I know we are men and usually know better but you should read all the info on the suspension settings and get a good understanding of how it works...

The IID tool will store the original settings that your FF has so if you do make a mistake you can return to stock and start again Pete
