For my MY02, is it possible to make the dashboard (binnacle) lights come on when I start the engine, so to switch them on with ignition live power, instead of with the sidelight switch? Very often difficult to see the dials and info even on what appears to be quite a bright day. .

Looks easy enough, Slate (grey) and red wire in position 8 in plug C0230 that feeds from the LCM, cut it and join to an ign live and it should work... may have a go later as I'd like it as well....

I'm wondering if they come on if you activate the DRL function with an IID. |

Don't think so, that wire splits from one leaving the LCM that switches all the interior lights on that come on with the outside lights... heater controls, mood lighting etc.... Pete

Iirc, All the interior lights run through a power transistor in the the lcm, and their brightness is controlled by the variable resistor sitting next to the light switch.

Wondering if I could feed from my DRL unit ( I have a separate DRL setup for fog lights, not IID controlled) .

Any ign switched live would do , the lights will draw next to no current, they will come on at full brightness but lets face it they need to be!!!
