Time to find them and pull them off, do you think a clean up might be enough to free it off? It does make sense for it to be that.

Stripped the air intake manifold off the top of the engine last night and inspected the throttle bodies, both move freely and move back smoothly to the fully open position, I think we can therefore rule that easy fix out (also have no throttle body related codes)

when you say that the head of the EGR valve had come off can you explain more

The flat end of the valve that seals around the valve seat (they look like an exhaust/inlet valve) had come adrift from the stem of the valve. The stem is moved in and out by an electric motor controlled by the ECU

Could you see the problem with the EGR’s still in place with the pipework connected or did they have to be removed completely to diagnose the problem please? |

Here is a picture which will hopefully make it clearer. There is no way of telling until the valve is removed (or at least disconnected from the exhaust end and tilted up)

I am having a very similar challenge with my 4.4 tdv8 going into restricted performance. It is showing very similar codes relating to the maf and EGR! |
