L322 4.4 Geabox acting up

Hi I have a 2002 4.4 RR with apx 125.000 miles. gearbox has been flushed and filter/oil changed.
when driving for a while i experience engine revving up, hesitation and a hard clunk when using kick down.
If i go to manual and change gears manually it works perfectly.
If I go to a stand still (neutral) and put it back into drive it will hesitate and if i hit the throttle quickly it will clunk into gear and can even make a squeaky sound.
These problems only occur after 15/20 minutes of driving never when cold.
Have checked oil level witch seems Ok but mechanic thought "the oil was very warm".
ideas anyone_
Paul

Hi PaulNorway.

Were the problems experienced before the fluid change? (Dexron3? LT1174?
What oil was put in the gearbox when changed?
Did the problems start not long after fluid change?
At what mileage was the fluid change done?

I am sure someone else will be along shortly but they might like to know about the above questions. Howard

what can also happen, (on mine, fixed by previous owner, ) was that the coolant lines can collapse internally on the rubber parts, and block them, enough for oil to not flow round. ie the gearbox radiator is not at fault. this was done after he changed the box, and rad. and hence, then the lines. i guess its possible to try to pass a test amount of fluid through a suspect line etc. the rubber beaks down, and swells internally, and blocks the route etc.
