I want to remove the rear door cards.
Can anyone tell me how you "Ensure the Centre Trim clip is released" as per Rave.
I have the card released all round the edges, just don't want to break anything releasing the centre clip which looking at it I'm not quite sure how it releases.

I found that video stan but it just seems to gloss over the centre clip, or else he broke it off in his first attempt to remove the door card and never bothered refitting it.
I've got all the edges of the card loose easily enough but just can't see how to undo the centre clip.
No doubt once I get off and see what's what it will be easy in the future.
I just don't want to force anything in the meantime.

Just have to tug away and hope for the best, same as with many panels that need to come off! .

Lift the door card up and it will leave the clip on the door, remove the clip and refit to door card before refitting door card sir

Metal tongue on the door card that goes into a fragile looking black plastic clip mounted on the door framework.
Must be the usual problem of never been apart before and as such needed a bl dy good pull.
Frightening when you think of the possible damage you could cause to the very expensive door card.

As NDFI and Craig say, have to lift card up once bottom and side clips released. I found that a good tug upwards on the forward edge of the card does the trick. I am waiting for the fella from National Windscreens to come and replace the glass which got shattered yesterday. (happened whilst car parked up outside my mums, 90% sure it was caused by a stone thrown up by a neighbour"s lawnmower. The bloke didn't know and it couldn't be proven anyway). It's a sod to clear up the pieces of glass inside the door! Previous cars:

I just had to remove the right rear door card to remove/replace a faulty lock.

The problem no is that of the 11 retaining clip supports that are glued onto the card, 9 have come off. The glue has failed, probably from 17 years of Australian heat.

Are there any suggestions for a suitable adhesive to glue them back on? I am considering superglue. It looks like they were originally stuck on with hot glue.

Hot glue was going to be my suggestion, super glue is not flexible once cured so likely to come off again

Loctite do a flexible super glue now. Google Loctite 480. I've used it for a few things and it seems to do the job.

I like the idea of hot glue but have no idea of which one. I suppose i could try what I hae but will it last for years.

I never updated this. I had to do the front left door as well when its lock failed earlier this year.

I had to remove the LH rear door card because I;ve had another door lock failure.

This time, the door card came apart at the centre join and another clip (of the 11) came off, too.

I pondered how to rejoin the top and bottom halves of the door card. I thought about Sikaflex but that would take too long to cure.

I then considered and tried hot glue (using the cheap hot glue guns that I already owned) but it would set before I coould assemble the cards.

I was looking at the local hardware store (Bunnings for Aussie/NZeders) and saw a DeWalt hot glue gun with a much more powerful heater, 95 watts - DEWALT DWHT70419-3 Rapid Heat Ceramic Glue Gun.

I spoke too soon.

In the hot summer temps here in my garage (+50 deg C), the glue failed and the door card top and bottom separated. Pix to come.
