If you have 7045E in the gearbox can I take it it is OK to mix Dexron VI with it during a first change? John

Well found a tub of 20l of dexron VI for £82.50 delivered if anyone near Warrington/Manchester/Liverpool wants to go halves? Enough for at least one change and a partial flush if so wanted but I believe if drained when warm almost all the old oil bar maybe .5-1litre should be left in the box? I had seen it had come down in price a little but why bother with an older oil? If Dex 6 is whats specced now then its going to be better for the box otherwise they would still be sticking with the 7045.

I think you will find he is a ZF5HP24 man and doesn't have much to do with the GM box apart from sympathy.... Hi Stan, I did do just that. I posted on the forum back in May about my gearbox issues and got no help except from haylands who tried his best. I gave up asking after that and my RR is still sat in the drive not working 2004 RR 4.4 V8 Autobiography |

Phil holds down a more than full time job as well, he does his best and gets on here when he can, as Stan says he has turned off his PM's as he was getting dozens a day.... Pete

The only feedback that the transfer box ECU (& indirectly the transmission ECU) receives to tell it what range is selected on the NV225 is the voltage signal from the shift motor potentiometer. If it loses that signal for any reason then it will immediately failsafe the transmission as it has no idea what range it’s in. You need to check that the resistance between pins 1 and 2 is around 4.7 kilohms.
