Splash Screen slow to start

2007 FFRR HSE Lux in the US, so it has nav & sat radio, but no entertainment on the front screen.

When I use the remote to unlock, the interior lights, etc. come on but the splash screen does not illuminate immediately -- it may take 10-15 seconds. It just started about two days ago and there have been no events (service, electrical issues, etc.) that I can think of that would cause this. It strikes me as a software issue.

Another odd issue that started simultaneously, but hasn't happened today -- the sat radio buttons have been blank. When I push the button, the channel name appears, but I have to cycle through all presets to get channel names to appear. I do not know if it is related, but thought I'd mention it in case it's an indicator of the actual problem.

I found previous posts regarding the screen staying on, but none where the screen is slow to start. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Another battery issue maybe? - if your battery is as old as your car then at 3+ years some can start to fail causing some electrical components on the car slight problems at first - not sure what the weather is like in your part of the world but if its anything like we have at the moment then a sudden cold snap usually sorts out which batterys are ok and which batteries are past their best - might be worth checking the condition of it before dismantling more complicated bits?....

...welcome by the way rfdiii Thumbs Up

I would echo that I had splash screen staying on (although I now have found out that is normal if you open the car to retrieve something without starting it the splash screen stays on 20 mins). I the had the steering wheel not tripping out when it was moving out of the way on exit, new battery cured the problem.
