If it's your gearbox then you will really feel it between 30 and 50 mph (50 to 80 Kmh) and it will go instantly you knock the gear lever into sport mode / manual.

What is the car like starting from cold, how many turns of engine before it fires. Has this changed - i.e. takes a little bit longer to start. This would evidence an injector problem.

I got my injectors cleaned and tested by a Bosch Diesel Agent, this was the point that 2 were found to be not working at all well. But they were able to recondition them for me and it cost £130 per injector. This was a lot cheaper than buying new ones, and I had the piece of mind that they were all working correctly.

Joe90, or should I say Tim , my car started perfectly when it was cold, just really didn't want to start when it was hot, got progressively worse until it all went Pete Tong on the A21 on my way to Battle towing a 3 ton bog Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

goncalo, from my calculations your car has done 84,000 km's or 51,000 miles this is an OK distance, but change the oil and filter now. You might get away with just changing the oil in the sump of the gearbox and the filter, it depends on how dirty it is. If it is a lot darker than the new oil I would power flush the gearbox. What ever you do, do not wait until L/R say the oil has to be changed, as this is too late and the box will be damaged. Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

I've just had a look to see if there was a Bosch service center near you there are hundreds, looks like every other garage in Portugal is a Bosch Agent, over here you can count them on one hand Find one that does injector testing and repairs they should be able do help you. I took my injectors out myself, to get them tested, and they came out really easy But from what I now understand that is a rare thing and normally they don't want to come out. The service centre that I used also had workshops that could have done it for me if I had wanted.
