Thanks for your support guys - now I just hope plugs 7 and 8 are not in a similar state as they are more difficult to get to due to LPG pipework, fuel line and restriction due to side of engine bay.

@Strider - just taken 4 yr old daughter to the local fair ground - after the waltzers and loud music, and effort today (I know it is exaggeration but it felt a bit like bomb disposal) I just want my bed Howard

I am racked with guilt. Changed all my plugs last week and they all came out with ease, even though I have lpg pipe work......... |

Hi, you are 100% correct :-http://wd40.com/cool-stuff/history. I can also remember when RS was not 6+ volumes of industrial products for sale but 1 thin A4 booklet and was called Radio Spares. Opps this sounds like a decent into historical trivia . Peter |

SMUTT, I'm glad you got the b8stard out. I know how it feels having driven many old crates for decades. Also glad you got a good tip from JBA. WD40 is OK for what it was designed for and I do use it quite a lot as well but when it comes to this sort of stuff, I have a few penetrating oils on the shelves. Unfortunately the best (my dad found it and gave it to me years ago) is Reductor. No idea where to get it from, luckily I do have a few other penetrating oils.
