I don't know if the RR is the same but the X5 Webasto version had a sensor that would not allow the FBH to work if the battery charge was too low. It would always leave enough battery charge to start the car. 2017 5.0 Autobiography Supercharged

So, on this subject I have a TD6 Vogue but no remote is there an easy way to check that all I need to do is buy a remote from ebay and try it or is there a world of expensive bits waiting for me? |

Brian, FBH was fitted as standard on the TD6. You are most likely to be missing the remote. John

You won't necessarily have the receiver, and your heater won't necessarily be enabledto use as a parking heater.

I'll nip out and have a look now but problem no2 is that I have no front screen - the previous owner "upgraded" to a Kenwood all singing and dancing head unit |

Had a look see and don't see the module - I have a trailer socket thing (there is a tow bar) and few relays and fuses dotted about and one flat 4 pin connector sitting there doing nothing (but it's not a blue wire) - so not having a factory head unit, and no module I assume this would maybe be an expensive "toy" that I can do without - just something I can add to my "wish list" then |

You won't have the blue wire. That is a 'home made' antenna in lieu of the correct one. However having recently fitted Paul's module I can vouch for its effectiveness.
