What do you make of this ? Been toying with a change away from my current LPG petrol model to a diesel, solely because there is a bigger choice in used diesel FF's.

is it just an excersise: to make us panic buy as much as we can store in buckets, in the garage/hallway?

Price of diesel has recently dropped lower than petrol for the first time in many years, so this will be is the perfect excuse for them to hike the price up again without any other reasonable explanation required...

After persuading us all to go diesel it seems they're now trying to do the opposite. Who knows what's coming next? On that basis I'll drive what I want rather than worry about what the next trend is going to be.

A few years ago the big deal on diesel was the particles that they produced were dangerous, so then manufacturers fitted DPF to the engines, today diesel engines are so clean that the exhaust tailpipe never gets dirty. Below is a picture of the inside of my Audi exhaust, yes I cleaned the exterior but the inside is untouched and as clean as a whistle

NO2 is a gas though. The traditional diesel soot is being burned off by DPF units, which doubtless produce ever more NO2. Just because it looks clean doesn't mean it is.

If you bought one and diesel started to become hard to come by there is always red or kero that would do the job in a pinch.

hee hee, fairy liquid...... I remember my mate's Dad used to run a coach hire business, he used to laugh at people washing their cars, and polishing them, then he would fill up the exhaust, with some goo, and the hosepipe, and take it for a late night run......round the block... side exiting exhaust, (1970's) meant that all parked cars were almost all the same colour. -black! |
