Has it snapped Under the bonnet or Inside the car? Ours snapped Inside the car but the cable shot Inside the engine compartment, it was a dealer job to replace the cable as there is no way to open the bonnet, unles someone here knows a method. |

It has snapped inside the car. The Cable is fine but the Lever has snapped off it's retainer. Is that what happened to you? |

No, on ours the cable snapped where it enters through the bulkhead, if you can still grab the inner cable you'll still be able to open the bonnet. |

Thanks Paul & Stan, I will see how much LR quote for a replacement and then take it from there. Will let you know. The Cable is still attached to the mechanism so hopefully I will be safe!! |

When you have fixed the bonnet cable (and that is easy if its broken at the handle. World of if its the bonnet catch end!) I wouldNOT do the tourist thing as a) it won't pass it's MOT next time and b) it is such an easy fix to do the job properly? It is an adjuster on the top of the light fitting and all you have to do is mark a line on your garage doors or wall and wind it down with a long series Allen key.

It's not an MOT failure to have a flat beam as long as it still won't cause dazzle.
I agree on adjusting it properly though anyway. Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK Discovery 3 TDV6 Auto HSE Zambezi Silver |
