United Kingdom 2018 Range Rover SVAutobiography 5.0 SC V8 Santorini Black

The one and only reason why the TP insurers are there straight away is to control their outgoings

Careful with the cash for crash car as unless the TPI provided it as the costs will be interesting Rolling with laughter

Fezza hire is circa 1k a day and in a crash in Aug with Factory shutdown is 31k to start as they cant get any parts Rolling with laughter

2008 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Stornoway Grey

That'll be a horror story of a repair job. My A8 had a leak on the washer jet and it took a day to repair it....the front is very close and very little access - all parts nicely fit Thumbs Up Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

Wow. Expensive given the amount of damage. But, when it's not your fault, new parts to put the car back the way it was.
Nice to hear of an insurance company not making things difficult and the driver who was honest. Bow down We all make mistakes. Here's to a good, speedy repair.

All sorted and collected it today. The Audi bodyshop have made a fantastic job of the repair so I'm a happy grumpy old git tonight. The BMW is a great drive, I did 600 miles in it on Wednesday between Glasgow, Oban, Fort William and Glasgow and enjoyed every minute of it. On the road between Tyndrum and Oban I set the cruise control and never touched the brake pedal once between the two places, fuel consumption for the 1200 miles I've done is a measly 42.3mpg. Sadly though it's just not the car for my work but if I had the money I would love one for myself

And the bonus is I asked them to keep me the old grill as they were going to replace it with a shiny new one, so this is now going on the garage wall

Thumbs Up

That's an interesting read, I've got the current shape A8 and had a similar non-fault incident recently with a similar rapid reaction from the TPs insurer (Diamond) who tried to persuade me to take an Astra hire car for £150 cash... and to use their 'preferred' body shop, a bunch of lowlifes out in the Suffolk boonies. I used the Audi bodyshop. I don't care what it cost, my car was damaged by their insured. The shop did a great job. So similar story.

I also got a 7 series as a replacement; I thought it compared poorly with the Audi, used more fuel, crashy low speed ride, it was cramped and awkward driving position. Felt huge when parking. Poverty spec kit. Horrid runflat tyres. Great Satnav though.

So I was delighted to get the A8 back. Graham

Glad it's repaired and you're pleased. Very Happy
Wow, A8s sure are nice. If I wanted a saloon car,it'd be on my list.
AIGGS, I didn't know BMW did a poverty spec with anything, especially not the 7. They're not my cup of tea, but the word poverty never came to mind. Now, the E38 7, that was a lovely looking car.

Yes the 7 Series I have at the moment is a base model the same as A1GSS SAYS. No outstanding features, no bells and whistles, fantastic graphics on the sat-nav and that's about all, but really a great driving car

All that glitters is not gold )or nite blue in this case)

Seems Audi like to use lots of glaze filler polishes to make the paintwork look good under their specially chosen lights at the bodyshop. Sadly after a few washes it all disappears and we're back to square one. So today was spent detailing the Audi and getting rid of the crap glaze Audi applied
