Morning...

So, returned from shopping last Saturday around lunchtime, unloaded FF and the car didnt get used until the Monday morning for work. However, on the Sunday evening i noticed i had not locked the car after the shopping trip!!!

I locked the car but 2 or 3 mins later the alarm went off, i unlocked the car, then locked it again, but alas the alarm went off again. Tried starting it for a few mins then locking it but alarm still went off.

So after a sleepless night because i had to leave it unlocked, i went to work the following morning and locked it. Alarm went off once in the day but after unlocking/locking it didn't go off again. Took the liberty of having the battery checked at County Batteries and all is fine.

So, now when i unlock it (every time) i get 2 beeps, it locks/unlocks fine and the alarm does not go off whilst locked anymore, but i'm constantly getting the 2 beeps each time i unlock.

Please help. its embarrassing.

Hi Pete,

Weird one that There is a setting you can change in the CCF to enable/disable the beeps, but you will need an IID tool or similar to make the change....or ask your friendly local Stealer

The two beeps is a door / bonnet open warning but normally you don't get the locked state. Could it be a loose lock sensor? I think the bonnet is the easiest to diagnose but the others are all within the packs contained in the door cards. 405 AB exec seats Baltic and Cirrus

If one aperture is open (or the car thinks it is), then i think it locks all other doors but not the one it thinks is open. When that aperture is then closed it locks it.

I suppose you could lock it then go around and check that all the doors and boot are locked, that would possibly localise the problem.

No idea Mate I'm afraid. Mine beeps at the moment, but I am about to turn it off as it is annoying me!

From memory I think the setting is in the Body Control Module accessed via the IID tool.

It beeps twice when you unlock it to tell you the alarm has gone off since you locked it... faulty alarm.... for now, just unplug the alarm horn which is in the opposite place to the main battery on the earlier cars but they may have moved it on later ones...  Pete

Old thread. But I have the same issues on a 2012 4.4 tdv8.

All locks fine, occasionally beeps but everything locks
But every time you unlock it it beeps.

No fault codes stored so plan to just disconnect the source of the noise. Just need to know where it lives!!!!

Any other suggestions welcomed.

fixed this someone had turned it on in the CCF file, so normal order is returned its now switched back off.
