Fault Codes P132A & P132B - Turbo Actuator?

Dear wise collective,

I've tried to do a search on here for the above fault codes (actually just the P132A!!) but came up with a blank.
I believe it is the turbo control actuator? It is going in to my indie on Wednesday to check the linkages and lubricate them as necessary.

Is there anything else I / they should be investigating? If I remember correctly there is an upgrade kit for this now? If so is it worth considering?

I guess I need to spend more time at full throttle in future Thumbs Up

Split hoses cause the same fault to be logged

If it happens when first starting, it's actuator related.
If it's only under load, could still be an actuator, but more likely to be a split hose

Thanks for the reply Mikey.

The fault only occurs under load.

Towing a loaded trailer up some of our hills can make it occur but then also foot-to-the-boards overtaking can make it happen.

Either way it's always the same sort of rpm (3500 plus) and not speed related.

I'll ask them to check the hoses while it's in Thumbs Up

I have the same fault however mine is only when starting. Is this a turbo acctuator replacement or could it be lubricated in some way?

2007 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Santorini Black

Hi All

I'm getting the Engine System Fault error message, and have been told it's the actuator. Apparently it's not that it's sticking, it's actually failing. Is this likely do you know, and is complete turbo replacement the likely solution?

Just had mine serviced at main dealer and asked them to lubricate the actuators. Didn't make any difference. They did say that there are new modified actuator rods which should fix the problem 2015 Range Rover VSE 4.4 SDV8. 1998 BMW 840 Sport, 2008 Aston Martin DB9

From my experience with both issues, the problem and codes are different.

The hoses problem, the car makes a boing, message something I can't remember and the car goes into limp mode.
You can restart it and get regular performance until the next boing.

The actuator issue, you get a boing boing, if I remember correctly, and a massive reduction in engine performance but no limp mode.

Now, if it's a TDV8, then you're F***ed. Because as is always the case with engine, everything must come out to access even the slightest bolt. So, for the actuators, one side can stay, but on the other side the lower suspension must come out to access the turbo.

Yep it's the TDV8 unfortunately! Damn thing failed literally as I ordered my L405. Evidently sulking, still want to keep it though as it's a great machine, but not keen to spend a fortune. Any estimates on what you'd expect this to cost? 2015 Range Rover SDV8 Vogue SE

The parts for the actuators are super cheap. It's just 2 connecting rods.
For labour, you can count on around 1 full day, as most of the underpinnings of the engine have to come out.

The actual issue is the electronic actuators apparently rather than the rod itself. Sounds like the labour is still hefty, but getting the actuators reconditioned. Apparently going to cost around £100 each to do that, plus a day or two of labour. At least the turbos don't have to be replaced! 2015 Range Rover SDV8 Vogue SE

2009 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Zermatt Silver

Morning all

A old thread. but came up in a search

I also have, along with some others P132b-21 Turbo boost control

2009 TDV8 with 30k on it,, goes into limp mode, so far only when towing, and some power/load required, a drop into gearbox sport and down a gear or so keeps it going, until a full switch off and restart,, restore the full power, until the next time,, light throttle, and you can nurse it,,

Only done it so far when towing,,
Also get P2299 Brake pedal position, P0501 Vehicle speed sensor,P023D Turbo Manifold pressure,P0103 MAF signal failure

Reading above, either hoses or Actuators ??
