Thanks guys, I can see you're absolutely right. I initially thought that carrying around 40kgs of towbar armature and kit for the next 5 years was a bit of a waste, if I wasn't going to use it and I could just keep it anyway to help sell the car when the time came. I have now removed the two parts that I can unbolt which actually weigh around 10kgs on their own.
So Paul as you say, the difference in weight is relatively small as the weight saving is only the additional weight of the cross member part of the armature. I just need the plastic bowl to fit in the space I now have in the right hand cubby hole and I will have somewhere to put my tools instead of squashing them down the side of the spare wheel. It can't be too expensive so I have asked Dan to add one to my current order of parts. Thanks again for the advice and Craig, thanks for the offer. 2010 5.0 SC Autobiography |

the right hand side cubby hole is an ideal place to store a hydrolic jack.. |
