I am 69 once a chartered engineer , once a RN weapons engineer Officer, and Submariner, now retired (Oh Yes!!!)
previous cars - too numerous to mention but highlights were
1. Jeep wrangler LWB Ultimate (aka the leakster) excellent, only let down by old fashioned auto box
2. Series 3 88 (1982) it was smelly uncomfortable slow and thirsty , but strangely adhering
3. Mitsubishi Outlander (the later diesel one with manual box ) also excellent
4. As a teenager in Singapore a group of us bought a 1940s Buick sedan can't remember now exactly what model
we called it the "Screaming Bitch" and painted an Enola Gay type image on the side. Mechanically it was a disaster, you needed a ratchet screwdriver to start it in place of the non existent key, but strangely again I have fond memories of the Bitch

I am still a long standing Biker , I have a garage full of them, in various states of rebuild and rideability. This is not understood by SWMBO who thinks that you can only ride one at a time!! Latest (and somewhat shameful) addition to bike stable is a Scooter (GTS 300 touring Vespa). Yes I know !!
but I got fed up of not being above to reverse the motorhome with a short bike trailer on the the back. It caused a huge stushie on the ferry to Orkney recently , because you have to reverse on to it. Had to un hook it in the end and get 3 blokes from Ferry to push it , with Bike on , on to the car deck. Queues forming behind, Ferry delayed leaving, you can imagine to scene. So we now have a scooter rack on the back of said Motorhome carrying the Vespa GTS (or "the Gayped" as my biker friends unkindly refer to it)

current 4.2 Supercharged trumps all previous transports (apart from Bikes that is)

I love the Gayped story Blackstoun !!! I hope to avoid those till the day I die, nothing under 100 bhp for me (bikes) or 250 bhp (cars) . Why not a quad or a trike ??? Why not an electric scooter, if you go whimp, go very whimp I'd say  MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

the reason is about weight, it has to carried on a rack on the back of the Motorhome . Its all about axle weights and not exceeding them (if you want to stay legal and not invalidate your insurance)

Most small bikes (125/250) are physically too small and too heavy, about 160 Kgs is the limit for my axle permissible weights
Yes I could get a lighter vespa 125 but it would pull the skin off a rice pudding, especially with two people on it Hence the Vespa GTS 300 cc , it weighs 158 Kgs (the Suzuki burg man 400 is over 200Kgs believe it or not and other maxi scoots are about the same weight

So in the end it has to be the Gayped . I just have to put up with being slagged off by Biker mates. at least it is not a pink one !!!!

the GTS 300 goes surprisingly well, quite relaxed at 130KPH with SWMBO on the back ,plus shopping

Keep it locked up mate, the biker mates might paint it pink for you .

never owned a ducati , mechanical fragility put me off, but they are a delight to ride , rode a st one for a day once , supposed to be a tourer, but i need orthopaedic help once I got off

I'm 28, work as a Cisco Engineer.

Have had a Disco 2 when I was 19 and a few 4.6 P38's since I was 23 and have had my SC since last year when I was 27.

Have had a host of cars since passing my test in 2004, including my Golf R32, numerous Citroen V6's and others, 22 in total. Have still got a couple of P38's, a Citroen Xantia Activa V6, a couple of Citroen XM V6's (first and last model), a Citroen C6 Exclusive, and a few others including 5 Land Rover Series 2B Forward Control.

Have promised myself an Aston Martin before my 30th birthday for a few years now and am hoping to pick myself up a V8 Vantage in Autumn. Almost gave up on the AM and bought a Range Rover Sport SVR a month or two back.

Nout wrong with bikes I've just got my first bike, a 1980 Yamaha RS100 great fun they are ..

I'm quite shocked there's a larger younger crowd for the Fattie (under 30), I thought most younger people would go for the Semi-Skimmed RR.. I'm quite pleased that there are other younger FFRR owners out there..

On topic, I'm 22, and own my own company.. I've wanted a Range Rover since I went in one at 12, and even before then, it was No.1 on my very short dream car list, because it literally does anything and everything, every day.. I give a good impression at business meetings when I pull up in an RR, gets approving nods as opposed to the car park full of Q7's and X5/6's. After that, I can fill up the car with 3 mates and a boot full of stuff and go away for a weekend, whilst I'm there I can horse around in mud, then in the evening after we get back, give it a clean up and go out looking good in the town in the evening.. As a certain J. Clarkson says, the Range Rover is the best car .......................................... in the world..

My dream garage is quite conservative for a man :

2. Maserati GranCabrio
3. Corvette C2 (split rear-screen)
4. Shelby GT500 (Eleanor, Nic Cage Gone In 60 Secs style, awful film, but I love that car)
