Ticking is usually associated with a CV joint, if it wasn't secure for even a short time grit can get inside and damage it, jack it up and check for play.... Pete

They are a bit of a faff to do, you also need a special puller to get the drive shaft back through the hub, you can DIY it but it's not as easy as a lot of cars.... Pete
