okay, it might breakdown occasionally and not have the build quality of the high end German marques, but its got something special.

But the FF *is* a high end German marque - have your forgotten the X5 underneath the FF bodyshelll? Twisted Evil Tym

If it sticks, force it. If it breaks, it needs replacing anyway.

Even at the end there were lots of BMW bits, but an L322 isn't an X5 underneath.

So does that mean that when Ford bought Land Rover from BMW and started putting 'Ford' components into the FF (Denso Sat Nav, various switches, etc.) that it then became a Mondeo underneath? Rolling with laughter

...like my old X-Type - a Mondeo in a tux...

I suppose the Rangie would be a Mondeo in an At-At suit.,.. Tym

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Zermatt Silver

we had a CLK from new in 2006, only just sold it after 9 years.

The car was absolutely faultless and perfect , never went in for a single item, not even a new battery.

great build quality , very smooth, only gripe was the diesel engine was a bit farm yard ( 2.2 4 cylinder)

my daughter has an older c180 coupe and that's just as perfect.

cant really compare my rangie to the merc as they are very different cars, but the build quality and reliability of the rangie is not good , not a patch on the merc,

Glad I found this thread. I've been having similar thoughts as I think about whether to change my L322 next year; the 405 AB was at the top of my list, but the S class coupe started to creep in (only me in the car 99% of the time).

I think thought of pulling up at a set of lights and looking up at a RR next to me has helped a lot!

If you said a sensible merc, like the Sl65 amg, I might agree with you, but surely an S class is best experienced from the back seat, not from behind the wheel?

And another thing is if you thing of the depreciation on a ff, then an s class is Shocked Whistle

But I'm biased __________________

I have a W140 S320 and must say I like it despite it having some 19 year old car in hot climate issues. But I can't wait until I get my FFRR here and get rid of the Benz.

If you are so hell bent on a S-class, just get an old W140 that is in good nick. They are dirt cheap in the UK so you get to experience the last of the well designed S-classes (aparently, only after the W140 the engineering budgets got seriously capped). But never get rid of a good FFRR Smile. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

I think you should look at these things objectively. The FFRR is a great car but I think it's great to experience different types of car, even if you go back to a full fat in the end Thumbs Up Now: BMW 640d M Sport, Alpine White

It's not usually, but if you have a hankering after a new motor and want to weight up your options having an objective think about things can be very useful Thumbs Up
