Coast to Coast off road trip (Video added)

Just spent three days doing the full Coast to Coast green laning trip with a group of friends, was a great trip...

Just four weeks after a new hip was perhaps a bit early for something like this, tried sleeping in the truck the first night but had trouble getting in and out of it with the lack of mobility... Laterooms came to the rescue and I got a bed for Friday and Saturday...

The route was 271 miles and did it with no damage to the Rangie on any lane... filling up with LPG was however more challenging and I managed to give it a good scrape down the side on an armco when reversing off the pumps...

Had some knocking and squeaking from the front which turns out to be the bushes and balljoints of the lower arm and track control arm, they were perished when I bought it and this trip just finished them off....

Also put a big dent in the front subframe, went for a more challenging line up a section of Parkamore and it came down heavily.... nothing that matters broken though...

Finally a few pics of the lanes...

All the trucks got to the end, had a few breakdowns but all fixed en-route...

Fish and chips at Whitby was very welcome....

Cheers chaps, Stan and Danny, no way was I missing this trip, been planning it for a couple of years now, there were several C2C routes we found but they had lots of road miles and very few lanes, we had three very full days with lots of great lanes, My hip is not too bad but my left knee is now much worse after doing all the exercises you have to do for the hip... sort of sods law... I'm grateful to several mates on the trip who not only put my boots on each day but kept me upright on uneven ground... all in all it was a good laugh watching me stumble all over the place, I looked half cut most of the time....!!!

mzplcg this was the route, from Bootle in Cumbria to Whitby...

Bucket list tick. Razz

Well done, considering your recent hospital surgery, it looks like the ball joints were hurting more than your hip joints!
