Interior light removal

Hi guys,

I've started to replace the interior lights with led's but am struggling with some.

I've done the load space lights ( had to replace a fitting as I broke a clip.( Thanks Dan) I've also done the front interior light and the reading lamps. I then tried to do the dash end and mirror lights having read on here how to remove them, or so I thought.

I got the dash end off but couldn't get the light fitting out and I also couldn't figure out the mirror.

Can anyone point me in the right direction with some tips. Mine is a 2007 by the way .

Thanks.
Keith

No tips guys?

I did read that if you take the dash end off you can get your hand in to release some clips on the knee level round lights but there is no way to get my hand in, I can barely see the fitting at all.

Surely these bulbs are replaceable, do I have to take the lower dash panel off?

Thanks

The round dash end lights, you pop the end cover off then just twist the light fitting and it comes out, didn't seem especially difficult when i changed the bulb in mine the other day.

Thanks, I think yours may be different then mine. Are yours in the same piece as the vent? Mine are in the plastic part where the airbags are and I can't even see it through the end.

Probably yes, the earlier ones like mine the lamps are in the Wood veneered bit under the vents.

Part way through now.......

I managed to get the round dash light out from behind with a plastic wedge and a small screwdriver at the front.

I figured out how to remove all the grubbing to do the passenger side and also managed to replace the glovebox light which has never worked. Both front door lights and the footwell lights have also been changed. I just need to figure out the mirrors now before I move into the back.

I also changed the sidelight builds because they looked a bit blue. I was jutting putting grill back in when I noticed the cap on top if the engine Censored so had to take it apart again.

hope someone can help me with instruction on putting back the front interior light and the reading lamps

I've taken them off today to replace one of the bulbs and now the whole casing doesn't sit back in properly

The inner black casing clips back in ok, but the outer casing doesn't want to sit back in correctly

any sort of help is very much appreciated

Have a look at the metal prongs, some times they get a bit bent as happened on my rear one.
Just might need straightening out Thumbs Up

I've also considered replacing the interior bulbs with LED's, but thought it couldn't been done due to the dimming of the lights. Where did you find the LED's that works with the dimming of the lights in the ffrr?

Hi, these are the various bulbs, mainly following advice by Stan and others.

They make a huge difference to the interior Very Happy if you put them in they only work one way round so make sure you check the light works before you fasten it back in position.
