2008 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Stornoway Grey

That's right the Compass branding wasn't back in the public eye then, I do like that with the white locker. If that had been around and available in the same 6 berth layout as the Tempest we could well have gone for that Thumbs Up Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

Is that a 2015 Buccaneer? Is that an IB4 eternity?

What are your thoughts on the two? Pros/cons.

We were wanting the Buccaneer but it was a fair bit more than the Compass. We got the self levelling fitted afterwards. The extra 6" would have been nice around the bottom of the bed for getting past.
Would have got an Eternity but they went bust. We looked at loads and seemed like the perfect van due to it extending.

Yes and yes.

The Eterniti had more floor space, wider and higher door, larger bed but the water system was poor and the build standard was not great, we had a 2014 on order but never got it.

We did over 12000 miles and 331 nights in the two years we had the Eterniti and it was starting to show its age and we thought it best to change before it was too late.

Ian

Just took this on the way home.

First time we towed with this car. OMG it is amazing completely effortless to drive/tow. Reset the speed warning indication Rolling Eyes as it was too easy to get up to motorway speed.
We had the D2 TD5 before and swmbo pretty much got talked into this car. Last month we had a row over the car and caravan as she hates caravanning.

Towed 60 miles to a place in Wales (Wrexham area). Lovely site all facilities on pitch. Motor mover now 100% working and self levelling system on the caravan too made siting and levelling stress free. Told the Mrs to take the dogs for a quick walk. When she came back everything was setup and the Isabella canopy up too (just in case of rain).

Packing up. She walked the dogs and then cooked a fry up. Whilst she done that I packed everything away. Finished breakfast, drained the water and off we went. Only traffic we hit was back home due to National Grid renewing rotten pipes.

She has said we can keep the caravan as I did offer we get rid and down size the car.

don't take up caravanning stan

Take up motor homing instead, because you don't have a rig with a great big hinge in the middle

mine is one of these (Hobby T70 GE)

its going to france on Monday for a month , with the Gayped on the back, Ooh La La

Yes but when you go out for dinner you have to turn up on the Gayped! Not in the FF. Rolling with laughter

Gone are the days (well mostly anyway) of the hinge being an issue. 2 tonnes is never really going to trouble a FF, if driven sensibly, and the addition of atc means that where permitted (pretty much nowhere) it would be safe to tow at 70.....(not sensible though)

Never seen the point in motor homes, family had a small Winnebago when I was a kid, with a family they make little sense unless you tow a car behind it, and then you have a tiny car and compromised space. At least with a caravan you have a full sized car and a compromised space! (He takes cover behind the sofa and prepares for the abuse!)

Nice Fiat though Wink There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
