EDF had to do some use with one of the trailers.

And then take the trailer through MOT as well. Supporter and maintainer of EDF - Mrs Edfors' shopping cart.

@Riverstick, its used to test future products. So dash, mirrors and other things are getting replaced with new electronic gizmsos. The normal thing I pull around is this 40 ft trailer. We use it to measure and monitor different angles and views for the cameras which will be on future trucks to replace mirrors.

EDF have now let us down for the first time. The starter have stopped working, just getting the loud click. So I guess it's time to order a new starter. I've also tried with fully charged battery as well as with extra power from a new battery, but no success. Sad Supporter and maintainer of EDF - Mrs Edfors' shopping cart.

So with a new starter arrived from the island kingdom. I went to work.

Old and new starter. The old had a couple of draining tubes, but none on the new, nothing but a couple spouts.

So I installed two 20 cm pieces of rubber hoses to these spouts.

The original fault is probably corrosion and loose contact. Copper screw has damaged thread, so I will see if this can be replaced later.

New starter looks much better.

Gives and opportunity to inspect the flywheel, but no wear to be expected since the starter is a pre-engaged type with built in clutch. So the sprocket is always spinning.

And also a possibility to give the RH turbo a exterior visual inspection. Some minor oil leak can be seen.

I have the garage some 15 miles from home, so loaded up EDF on the trailer.

Convenient to be able to move two vehicles by yourself Thumbs Up

Further details on the starter replacement procedure can be found here http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic31909.html

Past weekend, the Toylander got a new motor, one of the two motors in the Toylander had given up earlier. So good to have a couple LR's returned on duty again now. Makes both mrs and son a bit happier Thumbs Up

Me, having read about all turbo failures and not having any fault code reader become a bit nervous. Thought it was best to not risk anything big with EDF. So got home with help of a neighbour and then went back and picked up EDF on the trailer. During this trip we had two encounters with moose Shocked

Here's EDF in the far distance and our local moose calf in the foreground.

And EDF had to go on trailer back home.

And then another moose friend crossed the road just in front of us.

After reading about horror stories with turbos failing due to faulty EGR's and also after reading about all the possibly reasons for the Enginge System Fault to show, probably 95% is about a faulty EGR, I decided to replace both EGR's. When doing this I saw evidence in form of broken plastic clips on some connectors, that someone has been there before me, one of the EGR's are previously replaced! Anyway, decided to replace both so I know what I've got in there.

Old and new EGR valve.

Both new valves in place. The oil filter is suddenly very accessible as it stands tall in the centre Thumbs Up

I also decided to do 6 inlet hoses and some more o-rings and the gaskets required for the actual EGR's.

This was carried out on 125635 km on the odo.

Full write up of the EGR replacement can be found here http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic32601.html Supporter and maintainer of EDF - Mrs Edfors' shopping cart.

Here some recent events for EDF.

EDF dressed up for graduation transport Thumbs Up

and stepped in to move a old harrow.

It's an original Ferguson harrow, but in quite bad shape... folded in three. But since it's original I don't want to dispose it, maybe I'll restore it one day...

And time to remove the far to road biased tyres with something more suitable.

This looks better Thumbs Up

Pulling the tin tent.

And the horse box.

One day this little cutie came and stayed at our door step.

We leashed him and after a few hours got hold of the owner by calling some neighbours. Supporter and maintainer of EDF - Mrs Edfors' shopping cart.

Thank you Mark. Smile

EDF has behaved well over summer.

Here in company with a couple other fine pieces of British engineering, just 53 years apart. Fergie is getting ready for winter and also got new paint and rubber on the right front wheel.

On one of the trips this summer i had EDF on the scale and with luggage and 2 adults, 2 children is weighed in on exactly 3100 kg, so it's a heavy beast Thumbs Up Supporter and maintainer of EDF - Mrs Edfors' shopping cart.

Last night, on our way to our weekend home we saw this moose, it was laying asleep in a neighbours garden and raised when we came close and lit it up with the light from the Range Rover.
