I read on here somewhere that the car normally pulls away in second and that the time it takes for the boost to spool up and the gearbox to realise you are serious (and therefore drop to first) is why the car feels sluggish from pull away and then, if you continue to boot it, it sets off liked a stabbed rat. |

Yes, that's one of the big differences, the Porsche went back to 1st at stop without my intervention whereas the RR doesn't. |

Yep you are not the only one, the pull away lag annoys me too. Most of the time I just the flappy paddles when moving from the lights, as I find it a bit quicker.

Using manual mode is great when getting a move on, it seems to let the engine rev really well, better than just Sport, the only negative is the refusal to drop to 1st.

Understood - and I'm no expert on ECU's, but there was definitely a spot when you were already rolling slowly, then hit the gas, that my 3.6 really didn't respond to. Whatever the BAS remap did, be it engine, gearbox or something else, sorted it out & made progress smoother in that particular scenario. It made it quicker overall, that wasn't my primary motivation for the map - but was a welcome result I don't find the SDV8 a problem - but would love to try a remapped one just to see |

Not all insurance companies will cover remaps - so don't forget to check |

Hi Nick, do you mean software update to improve driveability from stop? Do you have any info, my car is at the dealer 30th June so may ask them about it? |

Thanks Nick, have emailed the service advisor at my local dealer to ask the question, it would be great if that is a possible update? |

Hi Nick, its no surprise but the dealer has no idea what I am talking about, saying no outstanding updates exist for my car, do you have more details please?

Would imagine that the starting in second business is to do with fuel economy. |

If youve got auto terrain response, turn it to manual if you want a quick get away. No lag to speak of and it moves off in 1st! '14.5 SDV8 Nara Bronze for sale
