Rear Door Speaker rattle

Sometime over the last couple of weeks my car started making an annoying vibrating noise when the stereo was turned up. On Saturday a mate pinpointed the noise to be coming from the offside lower rear door speaker and sure enough adjusting the fader to the front caused the noise to vanish.

So on Sunday I removed the door panel to make sure it was not a simple loose screw / fitting / clip and I confirmed the noise was coming from the speaker cone itself.

The noise continued yesterday so I booked the car into the dealers for a replacement speaker for this coming Friday.

Typically on my way home from work this evening the noise has stopped - No doubt the dealers will think I'm making it up and then noise will restart on my way home from them.

I can cope with the occasional problem, but rattles and vibrations are the one thing that makes my blood boil when I'm driving (that and middle lane morons)

thats typical of the FFRR, one minute you have a problem , the next its gone.....same with my 'noise' behind the console when the a/c button is pressed, day before yeterday theres a noise, yesterday no noise. Rolling Eyes

your speaker sounds like its breaking down, like when you turn up a stereo to full volume and the speaker blows..i've found that the little wires that are glued onto the diaphragm come loose because the glue goes brittle and causes speaker failure.... any signs of water ingress, if no its probably just wear and tear..

got the same issue myself, learnt to live with it TBH. Mine only seems to happen with the radio Shocked CD player on and sounds great!! Intermittent as well. I found that reconnection of the amp plug sometimes sorts it out Thumbs Up but then it only comes back again Censored Censored

Clemenz

The speakers are a direct replacement for the original ones, all fit perfectly and took me about 30 minutes to change both side Thumbs Up 2005 Range Rover Vogue with Supercharged Accessories

Well after a couple of weeks with the new speakers I have to say they are a massive improvement, sound appears to be cleaner and more defined, every little background sound can be clearly heard 😎😎😎 2005 Range Rover Vogue with Supercharged Accessories
