England 2014 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Loire Blue

When checking main dealer service histories be advised that they do a "cheap" service package that does the very bare minimum, but they still stamp the book... no way of telling unless you phone the dealer and ask...

Personally I wouldn't buy a late FF that had gone down this cheapskate route...

Mind you, who am I to speak, my 2003 came with no history at all but it did cost less than a set of wheels and tyres were advertised on here for not long ago.........!!!

Good luck with the purchase, they are superb cars... Thumbs Up Pete

Pete, are you referring to the A and B services? My main dealer only does the packages listed in the handbook, not a cheaper option to be seen, only A or B and then the supplementary items like brakes which are done as needed.

Most main dealers (any franchise) will do their own service packages.

They still cover the same thing as the manufacturer schedule in that they do all the Filters, engine oil, plugs etc. But might not use genuine parts. Take for example Spark Plugs, the Genuine LR/BMW (Bosch) ones are £240 a set for mine, NGK's are about £80 a set from a factors. non LR filters should be around half the price, the engine oil will come from the same workshop barrel that they use for 'genuine' servicing.

You also probably wont get the Land-Rover branded checklist with the invoice, you know the sheet where they tick off each service operation. There isn't a lot on the official list, lot of boxes to tick along the lines of "top up screen wash", "check wiper blades" and half a page naming bits of body work to check for corrosion. They'll still check over things like wipers and suspension, brakes etc. But they might not tick a bit of paper to say they have - reason being if you have a worn suspension bush or need new brake pads they'll be happy to quote you for fitting new ones.....

They usually only offer it on cars that are out of their original warranty or have a non-LR warranty, because people like warranty wise etc, just specify that the car is serviced by a vat registered garage, not that they have to use genuine parts.

Went today and looked at this car.... And came back both delighted and disappointed. Delighted that's it's definitely the type of car I would like to get, but disappointed that people expect to get strong cash for a rough car. It's definetly done its 80k miles.....

Spec

Maintained regardless of cost by Land Rover and needs for nothing at all. Very special car and simply in a different league to the others elsewhere, £29,990

The general presentation was good but
- the leathers worm,
- scuff and damage to the leather of the doors.
- The rear bumpers not fitted on properly
- and the wheels need refurbished.

I guess it's a rare but rough car.... Did like it's looks though.

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Santorini Black

Shocked 30 grand

The advert smells to me. I could be very wrong, but I didn't think there was a Westminster in the UK pre-2011

Mariana Black is an L405 colour - never heard of an L322 with it - maybe it was a special edition, but not one I've heard of

I can't see anything in the spec that's better than the 'lesser Vogue' Whistle

What engine did it have ?

I think you can find a much better car than that for the money

There are other Westminsters out there around that age and the paint was stunning, dark dark blue.

It was a mutt, obviously transformed into sn Overfinch the badges were cheap. Well at least I have a better idea as to want I want.

Questions:
- Are the rear screen any good??
- Do you get different definitions?
- Does the head unit play the DVDs?
- When was Blutooth added as standard?
- Does the 2009 Vogu SE have heating and chilled rear and front seats?

Australia 2008 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Rimini Red

I'm only going by what I can see in the advert pictures but here goes;
That car started out in life as a 2008/2009 TDV8 Vogue ,
Later in life it has had added; Supercharged rear lights Supercharged front grill(repainted)and Supercharged pedals , Powerful UK steering wheel and gearstick a westminster badge and Overfinch body kit and wheels .

Westminster's were Vogue SE's from memory and I don't even know if they did them in the UK then .

To answer you question;
Rear screens are a personal choice , much discussion on here about iPads superseding them,
Definitions of what ? but rear screens are not HD
Head unit will play DVD's if you have rear screens,
Bluetooth was added about 2004/5 but has only ever done phone and is a bit limited at that,
Yes a VSE's seats are heated and cooled . 2008 MY Supercharged
Rimini Red / Jet
four zone climate
remote park heater
and no ugly kid windows.

It seems a lot of money for a pre face lift car with very "marmite" body kit / wheels.

I appreciate that it's "every one to their own" in terms of taste, but I'd be going for a more original VSE face lifted car and at this time of year you might get into a decent 4.4 Thumbs Up

The early Westminsters were between a Vogue and a VSE. They were also awkward to insure originally as it was not a common spec (I was going to buy one) so I went for a VSE instead. They were basically a Vogue with deployable steps, unique pattern wheels (which OF binned in favour of their oversized fecks) heated & cooled seats with nice leather and a wood/leather steering wheel. They were all 3.6 diesels in the early guise, no S/C option.

The later 4.4 Westminsters are another beast altogether. Far higher spec and the later engine with the 8 speed box. Very nice indeed.

I know Overfinch are a personal thing but I would avoid them. They are very marmite and this is reflected in trade in prices. Dealers know they can be stuck with them for a while. Unless it really does appeal to you the cons can outweigh the pros. Personally I don't see how embellishing the Mona Lisa with some crayons is a good thing but meh, that's just me.

Give Gary a call, tell him what you want and he will find you a proper car. Patience is the name of the game. Thumbs Up
