I'd personally go for something with less miles. As others have said go for the 07 onwards. That ad mentions it's been fully serviced by Saxon 4x4, I think they mean Saxtons 4x4 in Chelmsford, in which case beware. They are hopeless for sales, after sales and servicing.....I know, I have been through the Saxton 4x4 experience and it was not good! That is being polite Smile

Cheers,

Andy. SDV8 AB MY 2019

Is this too high mileage to consider?

I would argue if the history is with it, then mileage itself is not an issue. I would however add that this one has been for sale for a while now, so either it's too expensive for it's mileage, or something else.

Just think when you come to sell it, will you struggle?

The green one on ebay with 170000 miles is now below £7000 (I appreciate that the one your talking about is a facelift)

Mine is an 06 plate with original interior. However, registered on 28th March so have to pay the full hit. I am extremely happy with what I have got with not a lot going wrong with it in the over 2 years and 10,000 miles of motoring I have had it for.
If you get a good one then it doesn't matter what the interior is like as long as it is in good condition as mine is! Previous cars:
S-Max 2007-2013 (only diesel I've had, good car but expensive when diesely bits go wrong, so what's the point?)
Galaxy 2001-2007
Mondeo Estate 1997-2001
Sierra Estate 1993-1997
Uno Turbo 1987 -1993
Fiesta 1984 - 1987
Fiat 127 1982 - 1984

its a hard one - this car will be a keeper for me maybe 4-5 years until worthless..like all my cars!

high mileage might mean big value items going wrong like gearboxes? Not sure I want to be changing things like that!

I went through the same dilemma and bought a 58 plate autobiography, later nicer interior, newer car.

Yes the tax is more, but worth it in my opinion Regards

2008 Autobiography bit out of my budget! My sister has one in Bonatti grey 2009 and her husband a SC in Black. Maybe I should get them to join FFRR?

Most SC's are Vogue SE based. Some are Autobiography. There's no such thing as a Vogue SC. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue
Had- 2008 TDV8 Vogue SE in Java black
Had - 2007 S/C in Stornoway Grey

I am in the minority that looked at both and ended up deciding it was meaningful as a weekend car as the tax saving was worthwhile so went for a 55 plate just before the cut off (although bought mine clearly as well on mileage and condition).

The delta covers my insurance and a pretty much a service every year and helps me justify keeping it as it only covers very low mileage now.... 4.2 Supercharged Vogue SE

The way I view it is £500 is roughly 5 tanks of fuel... So that's small fry in comparison to the fuel going in. Ed

Just seen this RR

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/adv...?logcode=p

Is it definitely a SC as the glovebox badge has Range Rover and I thought it should say "Supercharged"? Also side grilles look different though these might be aftermarket?

Ermmm, I thought you wanted one with ivory and a budget of £10-12000? Very Happy Very Happy

I have found my eyes wandering to over budget ones, but I just cannot cope with the sombre black interior.

Ermmmmm budget getting higher daily!!!!!

I am starting to think ivory might get dirty (I work in construction) and black might be more practical.

I am thinking 2007 and 2008 most probably now (with wife permission - she thinks spend more in beginning than on maintenance later and I am inclined to agree)

So maybe up to 17k and 2008 - electric sidesteps are now essential!!

you need to consider the self deploying side steps as a consumable item
