MOT today best result ever !!!

Went for an MOT today at the garage I have been going to for years ....... Only to find its been taken over by a new team:(
So I was sent to the MOT waiting area instead of being able to wander around and ave a good look under the car.

After about 40 mins I could see top of the car on the ramp boobing up and down quite violently so I wander round to find out what was going on . turns out the ramp jack was stuck under the front and they couldn't get it out .told them to drop the ramp and I will rase the suspension to full height . ramps dropped down jumps in to the car to find no light on the AS and a self levling fault on the message centre ,points this out to them to be told it must have been like that mate ....... So after they lift the ramp up and I see where they have jacked the car up I ask for the manager before they do anything else have a long discussion about what's gonna wrong and he aggread they were at fault.

Get the car off the ramp and the MOT finished but the front is on its bump stops and the backs up in the air Sad ask them to clear the fault so it would level out but the autodiags the got can't do it .so I asked them how much do they normally charge for a read and clear and they say 60 quid so after a bit of bartering I got a MOT pass as everything was OK for free and 35 quid off them to get it fixed .

Glad I got an all com's at home that cleared the fault lol

Obviously the Mot tester didn't read the Vehicle specific instructions that are printed out when he logs the car onto the system prior to the test. These instructions state quite clearly the car suspension must be raised to "off-road height" prior to using the front jacks. If this isn't done and the car is jacked in normal height, when the jacks are lowered fully the car still can't be cleared off the jacks, the car is effectively stuck.
It's even better, although not mentioned in the instructions that once the car is raised to off-road height, to crack open one of the rear doors - nothing moves at all then.
I came across this the first time I took my car to the local garage for an mot, they hadn't done any RangeRover L322's before and the inevitable happened.
