if going for a 5 series , consider the petrol engines , bit less MPG but a whole lot of less expensive things to go wrong V the diesel engines

What about a BMW estate on LPG with an underbody or spare wheel well tank (or tanks to create a bit more range). I know several people that had Beamers for years and loved them, both estates and sedans (all 5 series). MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

5 series estate Wonderful cars and the petrols really aren't that un-economical nowadys - factor in a lower purchase price and perhaps diesels aren't the way to go.

Before the RR I had a 2011, 3 litre Audi A6 Quattro S-Line (latest shape / version) - the 245 bhp version - not to be confused with the much more common 204 bhp

If its a toss up between BMW & Audi i personally would go for the Audi derv option every time... Quattro will help you in Scotland with the weather and imho is a far nicer place to sit...
