2014 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Loire Blue

You can't polish a t***..... yes you can....!!!

Time for it's yearly polish... thought I'd go a bit mad and see how good I could get it...

BEFORE

Flatted the whole car down with 2500 wet and dry....

Then out with the polisher, some G3, a wash and some Meguiars....

I was pretty amased, there is still the odd small mark but I didn't think it would look that good.... :D

Thanks chaps.... The evening sun has just hit it and it doesn't look bad at all...

To answer a few questions...

About 2 hours to flat it, another two with the polisher, another two to wash off all the bits of G3 that get everywhere!!! and about an hour to polish it....

My handles are just starting to wear, well the drivers one anyway.... when i did mine I dropped the can of matte lacquer and the top broke off so all they had was the base coat, it's lasted longer than I thought it would... I'll do them again properly soon...

I'm laneing again this weekend so probably have to do it all again next week.... Pete

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

How many times can the paint take being flatted before you see the base coat....

Great job and so satisfying looking at the end result.

Stunning result but I do agree with Gary. The paint gets thinner each time you cut it back and it will eventually wear out to the base coat.

Testimony, though, to LR's paint quality that it can take such punishment and still look deep and lustrous. Si. <This is my name.
