I have a 62 plate (delivered Nov 2012) L322 Range Rover 4.4 TDV8 Westminster (probably the last one) which has covered 27k miles mostly motorway and country A road.

I have just had the pads and discs replaced by my trusted Indy who has informed me that:

a) the front differential is leaking oil from one of the driveshaft seals
b) BOTH! rear shock absorbers are leaking oil

Given that the warranty is up in November I have booked it into a main dealer to address. The diff seal leak seems straightforward but what about the shock absorbers? The view of the Indy is that he has never seen a car with similar mileage with leaking shock absorbers. In anticipation that LR will say this is wear an tear - my experience over the last few years with 3 Sports is constant battles with dealerships to honour warranty repairs with prolonged negotiation - I would really appreciate the views of the learned forum members,

You have half answered your own question! You know there will be a battle!

However the forum itself may be of use. I don't recall any posts about leaking shock absorbers, apart from the extreme offroad blowout in Oz reported by one member.

If it helps, (and I will regret this now!) my 12 year old rear shockers still going strong (motorway and A road use). .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember

Rarely do i see a post 09 RR without damp leaky rear dampers! Every single one shows some sign on the rear dampers leaking JLR will usually change them under warranty

They are however ferociously expensive if one has to pay for a replacement sir! That said, i have never found one that has failed They seem to leak when new (as if overfilled) then stop and stay damp for ever more! Weird

Make sure your dealer jacks the car up to full axle droop so as they can see the top of the shocker
